Eating Disorder Treatment
Recovery Rooted in Compassion & Evidence
Eating disorders thrive in silence and shame. Treatment here blends structure, warmth, and science to support healing of both the body and the self—at a pace that honors your story.
When Food Becomes a Battleground
Eating disorders are not choices, phases, or habits.
They are complex mind–body illnesses that often grow from perfectionism, anxiety, trauma, shame, identity struggles, or the pressure to be “in control” when everything feels anything but.
They can feel like:
constant thoughts about food, weight, shape, or eating
restricting or avoiding meals
binging or feeling out of control around food
purging, compensating, or over-exercising
intense fear, guilt, or anxiety around eating
body checking or body avoidance
a loud inner critic that never feels satisfied
feeling disconnected from hunger, fullness, cues, or identity
Behind every eating disorder is a person trying desperately to feel safe, worthy, or “enough.”
And healing is possible—with the right support.
My Approach to Eating Disorder Treatment
My work blends Family-Based Treatment (FBT), CBT/CBT-E, RO-DBT, and DBT-informed skills, depending on age, symptoms, and needs. All treatment is evidence-based, deeply compassionate, honest, and grounded.
▶ Family-Based Treatment (FBT) for Teens— FBT empowers parents and caregivers to take an active role in recovery. Teens do not fight the eating disorder alone—family becomes the front line of support.
FBT focuses on:
restoring physical health, weight stability, and nourishment
interrupting restrictive patterns and compensatory behaviors
supporting parents with structured guidance
reducing shame, secrecy, and avoidance
helping teens reconnect to their identity, body cues, and values
▶ CBT & CBT-E for Teens and Adults—CBT-E helps shift the thoughts, beliefs, and rituals that drive eating disorders.
Together, we work on:
stabilizing eating patterns
challenging diet rules, fears, and all-or-nothing thinking
reducing bingeing, purging, and compensatory cycles
rebuilding trust in your body
decreasing body checking and avoidance
strengthening flexibility and emotional resilience
▶ RO-DBT & DBT-Informed Skills—For clients who struggle with rigidity, perfectionism, comparison, or emotional suppression, these skills help with:
reducing shame and self-criticism
increasing flexibility and openness
learning emotional expression and connection
coping with urges, overwhelm, and distress
building mastery, grounding, and self-compassion
What Working Together Feels Like
Healing here is firm but gentle. Structured but collaborative.
You’ll receive evidence-based care rooted in warmth, boundaries, and compassion.
You can expect:
individualized treatment tailored to your experience
parent inclusion for teens
steady guidance through exposures, meals, and body image work

Recovery is not about becoming a “perfect eater.”
It’s about building a relationship with food and your body that feels peaceful, flexible, and sustainable.
Recovery doesn’t have to be done alone.
